Last week, EPAM’s Bangalore offices played host to a vibrant gathering of kdb+ developers, industry leaders, and long-standing community members for the latest KX Meet Up. Our second KX Meet Up of 2026 brought together nearly 100 passionate engineers, industry leaders, and familiar faces: some of whom have been part of this journey since KX’s very first event in Bangalore back in 2015.
Reflecting on the evening, Victoria Shanks shared, “It’s wonderful to be back in Bangalore. I remember hosting our inaugural KX event here in a small boardroom at a local hotel, with just 20 people. Seeing how this community has grown and thrived over the past decade is truly inspiring.”
India’s role in this growth story cannot be overstated. Today, it is EPAM’s largest delivery center, with more than 15,000 professionals across six locations. First Derivative continues to expand its KX capabilities and services here, supporting a Large US Bank, a Swiss Bank and Japanese Bank clients. “This event marks another important step in growing the KX ecosystem and community in India, and we look forward to many more such gatherings,” Victoria added.
The technical sessions were a highlight of the evening, with Guan Yu Lim, APAC KXS Chief Engineer, taking the stage to showcase the innovative work happening at the intersection of KX and AI. Guan remarked, “Speaking at the event brought an incredible surge of energy. For me, it was the largest kdb+ crowd I have ever seen in a single room in India. With nearly 100 developers, alongside many familiar faces and old friends and over 20 international KX clients represented.”
The appetite for AI-driven solutions was unmistakable. “Co-developing with AI for kdb+ is no longer a luxury; it’s a tool that everyone is actively trying to implement,” Guan noted. “The sheer volume of passionate questions and explicit requests for code access made it clear that developers want these frameworks running inside their organisations today. Empowering our engineering teams with AI is the key to supercharging inherently lean kdb+ teams.”
A particularly lively discussion unfolded around Copilot development for kdb+. Guan said. “We mapped out everything from the initial learning curves, to framing the right guardrails, and keeping a human-in-the-loop. Each advanced topic explored proved that we are on the cusp of democratizing elite technology through autonomous agents.”
The evening concluded with a networking reception, where Guan observed how ,“the power of community was evident throughout the event. Old friends reunited, new relationships were forged, and the collective momentum was unmistakable.”
As we look ahead, we are excited to continue learning from this vibrant community and working together to build even greater momentum. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the KX Meet Up in Bangalore. Your enthusiasm, feedback, and commitment to innovation are what make this community so special. We look forward to keeping the conversation going and building on this success in the years ahead.
Thanks
Victoria & Guan
