Last Wednesday, the First Derivative New York team proudly joined thousands of professionals for the 50th annual JPMorgan Corporate Challenge in Central Park! This is one of the world’s largest corporate running events. This global celebration of fitness and teamwork spans 16 locations across six continents, with over 230,000 participants and more than 7,000 companies represented worldwide.
The scale of the NYC event was truly impressive, with 30,000 runners from 800+ companies converging in Central Park. It was inspiring to see so many people from across industries come together for an evening that blended competition, camaraderie, and community.
Representing First Derivative, we had 14 colleagues complete the 3.5-mile course, each showing tremendous team spirit and energy. Well done to, Rory McGovern, Alanna McKeown, Aoife Foster, Daniel Massey, Gerard Meehan, Gillian Kelly, Henry Lamb, Loannis Petrochilos, Kate Madine, Katie Grant, Leah Spillane, Michael Castaneda and Paula Colmenares Matute!. Special shout out to our team captain, Rory McGovern, for coordinating entries and logistics for Team FD. I’d also like to give a huge congratulations to our top finishers, Henry Lamb and Kate Madine, who both ran an impressive time!
Set against the iconic backdrop of Central Park, the event was more than just a race: it was an opportunity to connect with peers, celebrate achievements and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of New York City. The evening concluded with a well-earned post-race drink at the Central Park café, where stories were shared and new connections made.
A huge well done to everyone who took part and represented FD with such energy and enthusiasm. Events like these remind us of the power of teamwork and the importance of community, both within First Derivative and across the wider industry.
Thanks
Barry
